Accessories from Japan (part one)

Image
This week it will be seventeen years since I left Japan.  I cannot believe that it was that long ago that I lived in Japan for two years.  Although I have been back to Japan many times since then (including April this year!) on holidays, it will never be the same as living there.  It was the most exciting two years of my life, in which I developed a deep love and admiration for the food, fashion, culture and people of Japan. In this post I have included my favourite accessories that I bought in Japan.  At a later stage in part two, I will include my favourite Japan inspired pieces that have been sourced from all around the world! Enjoy my favourite accessories from Japan! Bag: Robin Ruth, bought at Narita Airport. Bought at Ueno markets Bought in Harajuku, Tokyo. Necklaces made from vintage kimono material.  Bought at Toji Temple markets in Kyoto. Earrings bought at Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. Earrings bought at Daiso for only 1

Owlsome Accessories! (Part one)

Image
Owls are revered in many cultures as a symbol of wisdom and prosperity. My love for owls started when I was living in Japan. Walking around the shops and markets in Japan you'll see lots of owl charms, statues, toys etc.  Owls are seen as bringing luck and offering protection from suffering. I love that owls have such deep meaning and significance and yet are also very cute!!  Owls have been in fashion on and off over the years, but they will always be a favourite of mine. Photos taken in April 2017 at the Owl Forest in Harajuku, Tokyo.                                                        "Hoot!  Hoot!" Starting the day with a hoot-tastic cuppa!
